Seminar – Fundamentals Of AI And Its Business Applications
People’s institute of Management and Research organised a Seminar on “Fundamentals of AI and its Business Applications” in the campus on 21st Dec 2022. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Anant Agarwal, Global brand marketing Manager, cognet infotech. He addressed students about the basics of AI and helped them to understand how it works. He briefed about how world is moving towards Artificial Intelligence and how this technology will help change the business interface. The session was a very informative and interesting one. He also motivated students to excel in their careers. The session ended with an interactive question answer round.

*PIMR Students* celebration ‘Freshers & Farewell’ named “*AAGHAAZ 2022 *” in People’s University on 17-12-2022.
“Its all about to the students, by the students & for the students”.
But these moments will become memorable anecdotes that they will one day feel with touched emotion. Students of PIMR recently flaunted their ethnic avatars at ” *AAGHAAZ* “held at their college. Not only students, but the faculty also came all decked-up for the occasion, which included a ramp-walk round -the main attraction of the day along with dance performances ,games and singing. In event girls wore sarees, boys complemented in formal wear for the occasion.An expression of gratitude, with joy & fun!! The event was followed by awards and lunch along with gifts to all the students

EXPERT SESSION – HOW TO WRITE AN EFFECTIVE RESUME
People’s Institute of Management and Research organized an expert lecture on HOW TO WRITE AN EFFECTIVE RESUME on 10 December 2022 in the campus. The orator for the event was Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta, Lead Consultant, Infosys ltd. He has been mentoring many students and job seekers from past few years and helped them get job offers. The event commemorated with the warm welcome of the guest by Principal PIMR – Dr. Pankaj Singh. Mr. Amit briefed students about the importance of a resume. It is a document which distinguishes you from other candidates. It makes a person stand out amongst the crowd. Hence, it is important that a resume should be designed carefully and with respect to the requirements of the company. He made them understand the strategies to build a correct and appealing resume. He also played a mock interview round with the students to make them understand as how to answer in the interview in accordance with your resume. It was a very interactive and informative session for students. The session ended with a question answer round which benefitted the students and helped clear their doubts.

PAINTING COMPETETION – GENDER ISSUES AND DISCRIMINATION
As per the UGC notification, People’s University organized a Painting Competition on 08 Dec 2022 in PIMR/PIHM ground to address gender issues and discrimination. Students from various colleges participated in the same. PIMR students also participated enthusiastically in the competition. The event was conducted by Cultural club, People’s University under the guidance of ICC Chairman – Dr. Anju Bajpai. Honorable Registrar ma’am graced the event with her presence. DSW of People’s University was also present on the venue to cheer up the students. Objective of the event was to raise awareness among students regarding gender sensitivity and about the inequality against women. Students were briefed about the rights of women in all the spheres of life. PIMR students – Neetu Sahu (B.com I Sem) and Ojasvi Jain (BBA I Sem) won the consolation prizes for the excellent presentation. Dr. Pankaj Singh (Principal, PIMR) appreciated the students and motivated them for their future endeavors.

INTERNATIONAL MILLETS YEAR
On the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the United Nations has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets. On this initiative, People’s Institute of Management and Research organized a poster making competition for (BBA/B.com/B.com hons) in the campus on 02/12/2022 to make students aware about the upcoming International Year of Millets. The coordinator for the event was Prof. Kiran Panjwani. Students from various courses participated enthusiastically in the competition. Millets are incredible ancestral crops with high nutritional value. Millets can play an important role and contribute to our collective efforts to empower smallholder farmers, achieve sustainable development, eliminate hunger, adapt to climate change and promote biodiversity. Objective of the competition was to raise awareness among students about millets and their importance. The posters were appreciated by Dr.Pankaj Singh (Principle, PIMR). The winners of the competition were Ms.Harshal Dasani and Ms. Chahak Kotwani (BBA 5th Semester).

HOW TO WIN CAMPUS- MEGA SEMINAR
A mega Session on “HOW TO WIN CAMPUS” was organized by People’s Institute of Management and Research was organized on 28th of November in Large Auditorium, People’s University. The session was hosted by Dr. Pankaj Singh (Principal, PIMR). He addressed students about how important it is to prepare for Campus placements. He briefed the students about strategies to ace in an interview. He presented a PPT as well to make understanding easier for the students. The session was also attended by respected Registrar Ma’am, Dr. Neerja Malik and HOI’S of different Institutes. The session ended with a question answer round to clear doubts and queries of students.Student learning involved following major points:

  1. How to Brush up your basics (Subject Knowledge)
  2. Importance of Personal Grooming
  3. How to be confident
  4. How to ace any interview

INDUSTRIAL VISIT – VARDHAMAN YARNS Ltd.
PIMR organized an industrial visit to Vardhman Yarns Ltd., Mandideep for corporate exposure on 26th Nov 2022 for BBA and MBA students. About 20 students and 2 faculties of PIMR visited the industry. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Agarwal and Asst Prof. Kiran Panjwani. Vardhman is a prime producer and exporter of premium quality yarns across the globe. The orator of the visit was MR. Abraham Thomas (Senior HR and ADMIN officer). He welcomed the students of PIMR and briefed them about the history, vision, and operational working of Vardhman. Then, students were given a tour to the production unit to help them understand the process of spinning of yarns, its operational difficulties and its management. It was a very informative and learning experience for both students and faculty. The objective of the visit was to enhance industry knowledge of students as a part of their academic curriculum.

SEMINAR – Understanding GST
To enrich students about the importance of GST, People’s Institute of Management and Research, organized an Expert Lecture in the campus on 24th of November 2022. The guest of honor for the event was Mr. Sanjeev Mangal. Mr. Mangal is a recognized Chartered accountant, Company Secretary and Cost Management Accountant professionally. He also serves as Excise, GST and Foreign trade Policy Officer at BHEL Bhopal, since 2010. After the floral welcome, Mr. Sanjeev addressed students with his expert knowledge. He explained to them about various implications of GST in the current economic system. He explained to them about proposed benefits of GST, concerns regarding it and how it is beneficial than the older system of Indirect taxes. The Session ended with a question answer round between students and the expert. The students learnt a lot about the current tax system prevailing in the country, which is an important part of our lives now. Overall, it was an extremely informative session for both students and faculty of the institute.

Traditional Day
18th October 22, An event to promote ‘unity in diversity’ and celebrate the rich amalgamation of cultures and states. It’s hard to find any other country in the world where being a home to people who might be entirely diverse in more ways than one is celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm. This day gave the PIMR students an occasion to celebrate this rich cultural legacy of their home state or to showcase cultures which they want to share with others. The event included cultural performances by students where they performed various folk dances. a cultural runway show by students of BBA and MBA representing different states in pairs, where Ms. Astha [BBA III Sem] and Mr. Deep Gautam [ BBA III Sem] won the audience’s hearts and prizes with their Rajasthani attire. “Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization.”
-Mahatma Gandhi Commencement of the program began with a tribute to the Almighty in presence of Dr. Neerja Malik Registrar, PU along with Principal PIMR , Members of teaching fraternity and Dignitaries from other colleges as well as their respective student communities. Even Dr. Neerja joined the students in the fun activity “Blow the Ball”, which was part of many fun games and competitions organised for faculty and students alike. One cannot forget the variety of delicacies served at the event rejoicing in the diverse food culture. The plethora of colours and talent on display in the rangoli competition was a sight to behold, Ms. Harshal Dasani’s [BBA V Sem] presentation of colours made her the winner. The music and dance in the finale of the event made everyone present feel ecstatic and joyous. It was definitely a memory that people will reminisce about the spectacular times they had and we cannot forget to thank the faculties and students involved for their tremendous effort which made this event spectacular.

Teachers Day
5th September 22, On teachers day we take the responsibility of thanking and appreciating teachers,as well as to honour the hardships and their invaluable presence in our lives.They enlighten us and shape us into good humans,guiding us throughout student life. It was now the turn of students of BBA / B.Com to shower tokens of love and regards to Professors at PIMR on this special occasion where all PIMR faculty members were Invited.Through their contribution is irreplaceable,the students left no stone unturned in their efforts to please or acknowledge their role models. The seminar hall of PIMR was a sight to behold on this day, the flowers,balloons and streamers inviting everyone for what’s to come.with the lighting of the lamp and paying respects to Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan,the great pedagogue and philosopher,with flower garlands.The teachers were greeted with flowers and gifts.Dr. Abhilasha Jain [Principal, PIMR], delivered a speech on Dr. Radhakrishnan and the role of teachers in shaping society and its future. Furthermore , students expressed gratitude, regard and respect for their teachers. They performed dances and songs to express their feelings as well as organised various fun activities for teachers. Afterwards, all the faculty members did the cake cutting ceremony together and appetisers were shared among all. At the culmination of the programme, Dr. Sunil Agrawal (Professor, PIMR) gave a vote of thanks to students for such an amazing day on behalf of all the teachers .He also appreciated the faculty for their immense contribution to the institution for all these years.Days may come and go but the memories that we had made at Teachers Day will stay with us forever.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
‘Two-day Faculty Development Programme was conducted at People’s Institute of Management and Research, Bhopal on 28th and 29th August, 2022. The program was organized by Mr. Suaresh Mittal sir as a part of the initiative to enhance the faculty competencies in the area of Information Technology especially on Microsoft Applications required for education. The program was attended by 56 faculty members of various Institutes of People’s University. The program was enriching and intellectually stimulating for the participating faculty. The speakers of the programme were Mr. Rahul Bhargava, the founder of RDV Group, certified by Microsoft, Google and IBM. Along with him we had the gracious presence of Mr Sourabh Gupta, Technical Head (RDV Group).

HR MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP – 4th Aug 2022
People’s Institute of Management and Research (PIMR) conducted a workshop on HR Management for the students in the PIMR campus on 4th Aug 2022. The resource person for the event was Mr. Rahul Bhargava, Managing director at R Dot Ventures, founder of “Shekunj.com” and “Octahire.com”. SHEKUNJ is a platform which provides free training to female candidates. PIMR welcomed him with open hearts. Mr. Rahul gave a wonderful presentation and addressed the students about the importance of HR and how HR industry evolved during last many years. The program was attended by 39 students and 10 faculty members of PIMR and was well received and appreciated by all the participants. The purpose of the seminar was to make the students aware about the upcoming opportunities in HR industry and how they can pave a career path in HR domain.
