Citizen’s Charter

People’s College of Medical Sciences and People’s Hospital is committed to provide best possible health services to the citizens of this country. This is made possible by the well qualified, experienced and dedicated team of healthcare workers.
This charter explains the rights as well as responsibilities of the Patients towards the Hospital and vice-versa.

Rights of the patients

Every patient has a right to:

  • Access to Healthcare
  • Be treated with respect and dignity without discrimination.
  • Be treated by competent professionals.
  • Be informed aboutdetails of the illness and possible outcome of this illness
  • Be informed about the details of treatment offered andconsequences of the treatment.
  • Know the details of professional status of treating doctor.
  • Choice of care offered.
  • Know about the services offered by the hospital.
  • Request for a second opinion, if desired.
  • Privacy and confidentiality.
  • Voice a complaint.
  • Provide healthy constructive suggestions to improve desired health services.

Patients’ responsibilities towards Hospital

Every Patient, while taking consultation, treatment and other benefits from the hospital are required to follow some basic civic responsibilities as below:

  • Treat all Healthcare workers with respect and dignity.
  • Behave in a decent manner with other patients.
  • Comply with hospital policies and guidelines as framed & displayed from time to time.
  • Restrict the number of visitors to a minimum and within the time frame allowed by the hospital authorities.
  • Restrict entry of children, except when really needed, to avoid exposure to diseases.
  • Do not take medications & other measures without proper consultation.
  • Protect the environment.
