The aim of Computer Science Department, SORT, People’s University is to equip their students with latest technical skills to cope up with the trends and the needs of the industry. Keeping this in view our university has a plethora of diverse and specialized industry oriented courses.
In addition, the institution is also in process of collaboration with the industry giants by establishing “Centers of Excellence” across various concentrations that are focused on developing professional and technical skills of the students.
The courses and the curricula are tailored and designed to cater to the requirements of industrial deployment and research activities.
More and more focus is given to project and lab based learning, seminars and webinars. This not only imparts high class theoretical knowledge but also trains the students with real time practical scenarios, facilitating the transition of the students from academics to the industry.
Courses like B-Tech with specialization in cloud computing are being offered and also preferred over the traditional core B-Tech Course as they give the graduates an extra edge during the placements.
The graduates are encouraged to leverage the opportunities provided by numerous conferences, industry visits and guest lectures by industry experts that happen as a part of the technical programs for developing their overall personalities and gaining industry specific knowledge.

Ms. Shital Gupta is Associate Professor and Head of the Computer Science & Engineering Department. She is perusing. PhD in Computer Science & Engineering from LNCT University, Bhopal. She received M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalay, Bhopal, B.E Computer Science & Engineering from Amravati University, Amravati. She has a rich teaching experience of 16 years and worked in various prestigious Engineering Colleges in Madhya Pradesh, Noida and Maharashtra. She has published many research papers in National/International Journals. Ms. Shital Gupta is a life member of IAENG. Her research interests include Image Processing & Information Security.
She is Nodal center Coordinator for IIRS-ISRO Outreach programme and Coordinated numbers of online outreach programme, workshops which is conducted by IIRS-ISRO. She is also Nodal center Coordinator for Virtual Lab at SORT which is initiative of MHRD. She is also hosted the state level events of SRIJAN for Bhopal Zone.
She organized several workshops, training programs guest lecturers etc at SORT.
She has extensive experience in scientific and technical Computing. She supervised and mentored undergraduate and post graduate students. She is adept in communication and problem solving.

The goal is to provide our students with the most up-to-date technical knowledge and skills by providing the best teaching faculty, lab facilities, excellent development environment, and excellent infrastructure every year, the department and students organize a variety of technical and non-technical competitions to allow business professionals to see new talent and provide career opportunities to the candidates.
