Introduction

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences organized project submission and presentation activity under the course Indian Knowledge System (IKS). The objective of this activity was to provide students with experiential learning and enable them to explore ancient Indian knowledge traditions, philosophical foundations, and scientific heritage. The initiative aimed at enhancing research-based learning, critical thinking, and communication skills among student

Objectives of the Activity

  • To deepen the understanding of Indian Knowledge System beyond theoretical study.
  • To encourage students to analyze India’s traditional knowledge through interdisciplinary perspectives.
  • To develop presentation, research, and documentation skills among students.
  • To promote cultural appreciation and connect traditional knowledge with modern technology.

Themes Covered in the Project

Students selected topics from various domains of Indian Knowledge System, including:

  • Indian Vedic Knowledge and Philosophy
  • Glory of Indian Literature
  • Indian politics and IKS
  • Mental and emotional well being in IKS

    The project work was conducted in three stages:

    • Stage 1: Orientation and topic allocation Date: 24/10/2025
    • Stage 2: Work shop  on Project writing Date: 27/10/2025
    • Stage 3: Presentation and evaluation Date: 18 /11/20/2025

    Students were evaluated on research content, originality, relevance to IKS, formatting, creativity, and delivery during the presentation.

    Students’ Participation

    A total of 30 students actively participated in the project. Students demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, and critical thinking in selecting and presenting their themes. Many presentations included Case studies and practical demonstrations, reflecting innovative learning outcomes.

    Outcomes of the Activity

    • Students gained in-depth knowledge of India’s intellectual traditions.
    • Research and analytical abilities improved significantly.
    • Communication and presentation skills were enhanced.
    • The activity developed a sense of cultural pride and academic curiosity.

    Feedback and Observations

    The faculty members appreciated the creativity & contribution of student’s engagement. Some students suggested including field visits, guest lectures, and practical workshops in future sessions for better experiential learning.

    Conclusion

    The project submission and presentation activity for the Indian Knowledge System course was successfully conducted and achieved its intended academic objectives. The initiative strengthened students’ understanding of Indian scientific, cultural, Political Understanding and Psychological background of emotional and mental wellbeing with the help of IKS this heritage contributed to holistic Outcome.
