B.Tech – Biotechnology
Training professionals in biotechnologies to utilize biological systems and molecular processes for the betterment of society through the use of scientific techniques related to health care, agriculture and the environment.
Overview
The B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) program in Biotechnology at the School of Research and Technology, People’s Universitycombines biological sciences and engineering to create new technologies and applications based on biology. It will provide students with an opportunity to study the many ways that genetic engineering, bioprocess development, bioinformatics and industrial biology can be used to produce products that will benefit society. The curriculum will provide students with an understanding of the different engineering techniques that can be used to create new or improved medicines, biofuels, agricultural products and to repair damaged ecosystems. By exposing students to both the engineering and biological topics involved in biomanufacturing, we prepare them for the increasing number of jobs that are expected to be created as biotechnology continues its rapid expansion.
