The Orientation Day at People’s Institute of Legal Studies was held on 28 August 2025 to welcome new students. Faculty introduced academic programs, career opportunities, campus initiatives, discipline, and values, motivating students toward ethical, holistic, and professionally oriented legal education.

Special Lecture on “Protection of Consumer Rights”

The People’s Institute of Legal Studies, People’s University, conducted an online special lecture on “Protection of Consumer Rights” on March 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Eminent speakers discussed consumer laws, redressal mechanisms, and legal awareness. With 146 participants from various cities, the interactive session successfully enhanced consumer rights awareness nationwide.

Guest lecture on World Consumer Rights Day

The People’s Institute of Legal Studies, Bhopal, hosted a guest lecture on World Consumer Rights Day, featuring renowned jurist Advocate Rajshree Pandey. Speaking on “Safe Products, Confident Consumers,” she detailed essential rights like safety and information under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Adv. Pandey explained the step-by-step grievance process, including the e-Daakhil portal, and shared practical insights from her career. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A regarding misleading ads and online fraud, empowering law students to become vigilant advocates.

Lecture on Gender Justice Laws in India May 23, 2022

A lecture on Gender Justice Laws in India was organized on May 23, 2022, by the People’s Institute of Management & Research, People’s University, Bhopal in collaboration with the Department of Post Graduate Legal Studies, People’s University, Bhopal. The lecture was given by Dr. Anju Bajpai, Chairman (Internal Complaints Committee) and HOD, Department of Post-Graduate Legal Studies, People’s University, Bhopal. In the lecture, the participants were informed about several gender justice laws such as Maternity Benefit Laws, Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, Domestic Violence Act, 2005, etc., and recent judicial pronouncements. The speaker emphasized the role of citizens in the implementation of these laws. Students were further asked to take steps towards ensuring gender justice.
