Cyber Awareness

A one-day offline workshop on “Emerging Legal Issues in Cyber Law” was organized on 21st February 2026 at Peoples Institute of Legal Studies, People’s University, Bhopal with the aim of enhancing awareness regarding emerging cyber crimes and digital safety practices. The program featured an expert lecture and interactive discussion on key cyber space related legal issues including provisions of the IT, ACT, 2000, cyber fraud, deepfakes, misinformation, digital arrest and dark web activities, followed by a practical training session conducted in the computer lab/ library where participants were introduced to cyber hygiene practices, security best practices on computers and mobile devices, and the use of relevant AI applications, useful websites, and online portals for digital safety. The workshop concluded with an real-time online quiz.

National Workshop on the use of Indian Languages in Court and Legal Education

The People’s Institute of Legal Studies organized a National Workshop on Indian Languages in Courts and Legal Education on 14–15 June 2025. Eminent dignitaries, scholars, and faculty discussed inclusivity, paper presentations, and publications, emphasizing linguistic diversity to make justice and legal education more accessible

One day Workshop on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013(POSH Act)
Under Gender Sensitization Programme one day Workshop on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013(POSH Act) was organized on March 04, 2022. Dr. Neerja Mallick, Registrar, People’s University, Bhopal inaugurated the workshop by providing a brief introduction about the event and committees established in university. The orientation was given by Dr. Anju Bajpai, Chairman (Internal Complaints Committee) and HOD, Department of Post-Graduate Legal Studies, People’s University, Bhopal. In the workshop, the participants were made aware of some of the important provisions of the (POSH) Act, 2013. The speaker started with the history of the law, its contents, and completed the event by discussing recent developments in the law.
