Some Goodbyes Are Never Really Goodbyes — A Letter from People’s University

Some Goodbyes Are Never Really Goodbyes — A Letter from People's University

There is a moment somewhere between the last exam and the final farewell, when you stop walking and just look around. At the corridor you rushed through a hundred times. Bench, where you used to sit, pretending to read while discussing anything and everything. Gate, which you passed through every day without ever imagining the day when you will be passing through it for the very last time.

These moments of silence comprise the essence of People’s University. That moment – that pause is what People’s University is made of.

You Came Here Carrying a Dream

Most of you arrived here nervous. Some of you came from small towns, carrying big hopes and a bag that felt heavier than it looked. Some of you had parents who quietly prayed at home while you stepped into a new city, a new hostel, a new life.

You did not know it then, but the moment you walked through these gates, something shifted. This place began to quietly become yours.

The classrooms of People’s College of Medical Sciences heard your first nervous answers. The corridors of PIMR saw you transform from a hesitant fresher into someone who could lead a boardroom discussion. The labs of SORT stayed lit late into the night because you refused to give up on your experiment. The courtyard of PILS witnessed debates that were actually about finding your own voice.

This university did not just give you a degree. It gave you yourself.

And if you ever want to revisit where it all began, every college, every course, every memory lives at People’s University Bhopal.

The People Who Stayed in the Background

Behind every memory you carry, there are faces you may not always remember to thank.

The faculty member who stayed back after class because she could see you were struggling, not just with the subject, but with life. The warden who looked the other way once, because she understood. The udippi canteen bhaiya who remembered your order without you saying a word. The security uncle who always gave a nod that somehow felt like “you belong here.”

People’s University was never just a building. It was every person inside it who chose to show up for you – quietly, consistently, without asking for anything in return.

The Friendships That Happened Here

There are friends you made here who know a version of you that no one else will ever fully understand. They were there at 2 AM when the assignment was due and the Wi-Fi was down. They were there when the results came and you did not know whether to cry or laugh. They sat beside you during practical’s, borrowed your notes, shared your tiffin and somehow, without any formal agreement, became your family.

Distance will come. Jobs will take you different ways. Life will get busy in ways you cannot imagine right now.

But somewhere within your inner self, there will always be a warmth that belongs to this place. To these people. To these years.

Har Koi Ke Nishaan Yahan Baki Rehte Hain

Every batch that has walked out of these gates has left something behind.

Not just in the records or the achievements boards — but in the walls that absorbed your laughter, in the grounds that held your celebrations, in the classrooms that carried the weight of your silences and your breakthroughs equally.

The student who planted a sapling during the Green Campus Drive — that tree is still growing.

The MBBS student who performed a street play on cancer awareness in Khamkheda village — that message still lives in the community.

The engineering student who won at SAM-AARTH 2025 — that confidence never left.

The nursing student who stood before 55 patients and spoke about health with courage — that courage became her identity.

The law student at PILS who found their voice in a courtroom debate — that voice now speaks for others.

The pharmacy student at SOPR who stayed late in the lab chasing a research breakthrough — that curiosity is now a career.

The management student at PIMR who once fumbled through a presentation — that same student now walks into boardrooms without flinching.

You think you left. But you are still here, in every student who walks these corridors today and draws strength from what you built before them.

Whatever Your Stream, This Was Your Home

People’s University was never just one college or one course. It was a whole world and every stream found its place within it.

Whether you were healing patients at People’s College of Medical Sciences, crafting arguments at People’s Institute of Legal Studies, writing code and building machines at People’s Engineering College (SORT), managing businesses at PIMR, caring for patients at People’s College of Nursing & Research Centre, researching breakthroughs at CSRD or shaping smiles at People’s Dental Academy, you were all part of the same heartbeat.

Different buildings. Different labs. Different uniforms. The same long nights before exams, the same anxious mornings before exams and the same joy you had after making your parents proud.

If you want to go back and relive those experiences, see every department, every faculty member and every college that contributed to your growth can all be found at People’s University in Bhopal.

People’s University no matter what field of study you come from, was and will be your university!

To the Students Who Are Still Here

Hold on to this time. Not tightly, just mindfully.

Go to that one class you have been skipping. Have that conversation with your professor you have been postponing. Sit with your friends without your phone for one evening. Walk slowly through the campus once not rushing to the next lecture — just walk.

Because one day, sooner than you think, you will be the one standing at the gate, looking back.

And you will want to have more of it inside you.

People’s University Is Not a Chapter You Close

It is the chapter that closes everything else into perspective.

When life gets hard and it will — you will remember what it felt like to figure things out here. To fail a test and come back. To feel homesick and still build a home. To be uncertain and still keep going.

This university believed in going Beyond Limit and it taught you, slowly and surely, to believe the same about yourself.

So no, this is not a goodbye.

This is you carrying People’s University forward in your work, in your values, in the way you treat people, in the life you are about to build.

And whenever you miss it, whenever you want to feel that warmth again come back. Even if only through a screen.

You were shaped here. And this place was shaped by you.

That exchange, that is permanent.
